Okra, in The Color Purple.

I was awakened by an entirely-too-alert sounding "Maaaaaaa maaaaaaaaaa?!" last night at approximately 11:45 PM and trotted into Bean's room to assess the problem. Which required no real assessing at all as the minute I opened her door my bionic supernose picked up the unmistakeable stench of sour milk and stomach contents. Mmmm-hmmm. Right! Vomit. My! Y'all are sharp this mornin'!

And she'd eaten a ton of very ripe, fresh blueberries throughout the day yesterday, so what lay before me when I turned on the lights looked like a screen capture of a nightmare sequence from Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Movie.

Good times at FriedOkra Manor. Of course Bean's much improved this morning, but now Al and I live in the shadow of fear until it's our turn with the virus. A big, purple-barf shadow. Like Barney, only without all the smiling and singing. Ironically, I have the painters coming to do the upstairs tomorrow. They were here when we all had the virus last November, too! They're going to think all the people in this house do is barf and lie around sweating and being pitiful.

But the good news is, I'm the featured guest poster over at {Karla}'s place today. It's a post many of y'all have read before, because I believe so strongly in recyclin' and all.

Y'all have a good day. I have sheets to bleach and purple stains to remove from the bathroom grout. Have I said, "Good times," yet?

Oh well, I do think it bears repeating, in this case.

The Snack Time post is here.

I hope Bean is feeling better soon and that the 'bug' stays away from you and Al!

Not again! That nasty bug has been spending far too much time at your house lately. I think you and Al should avoid blueberries today, just in case!

Good times indeed.
Pineapple is by far the worst to clean up, for my anyways.

But, having harold and his purple crayon mess to clean up isn't fun I imagine.

I hope all bellys in the house are feeling much better now.

Good times...

Oh yuck! Hope the day gets better and that no one else gets the virus. I was throwing up all day yesterday so even though I'm fine now I'm in that same paranoid state right now for everyone else in the house. I absolutely hate cleaning up someone else's throw-up. Blah!

Poor Bean and poor Mommy! I can only imagine that blueberry stains are a bear to remove.

Perhaps it's not a bug and maybe just a case of too many blueberries. Or that could just be me trying to be all postive for you!

Sending you healthy vibes!

Hope she is feeling better soon.

Just a tip I've found to be useful. Say Bean is laying low on the couch while not feeling so well ... I would lay out towels or sheets from the couch to the bathroom, so when she has to get sick, and she might not make it ... the clean up only consists of picking up the towel and throwing it in the washer on the sanitary cycle.

Saves your knees from scrubbing. I've done this LOTS AND LOTS of times.

Oh, I sooo feel your pain. It was cleaning poo all day for me yesterday! So sorry to hear but hopefully you and hubby will escape the virus go around.

Ewwww - I hope you and AL both escape the horrors. When I'm PG I can't handle "yack" and Hubbers has to do his duty for the family.

Get better soon!!

Oy! I've delt with plenty-o-puke in my time but blueberry colored??? Yikes!
I'll be praying for you, nothing like getting sick while preggo.

No fun. Hope you and Al bypass getting this mess.

So sorry - but hopefully it's just a case of too many blueberries. Hang in there.

Oh, praying that you and Al stay healthy, happy and puke-free!

And it's OxiClean you need to be soaking those sheets in, girl--in hot water, overnight. Even if you've already washed and dried them--if there are residuals, it will WORK!

My baby woke up this morning throwing up and feverish.

I spent the day on sheets and carpet cleaning too!

Whenever my kids are vomiting, I always feel psychosomatic and I can never tell if I have a touch of the virus, or if I'm just grossed out and queasy.

Hope Bean is on the mend and you and Al are spared.

I predicted to my husand this morning that, by tonight, there would be some pu*ing going on at our house. Can tell by how the 2-year old acted when he woke up this morning. Of course, we're leaving for a week's vacation on Monday so murphy's law says someone has to get sick.
