The Contest
Hey, did you notice? Yesterday's post? Well, I was so anxious to get it posted for y'all that I forgot to give it a TITLE! And y'all know how I love thinking up titles, particularly ones that appear to be almost completely unrelated to the subject (loosely) covered in the post.
This cannot stand. I can't have a title unknown post in my archives, people. It is just not my WAY.
So let's have a contest!
NAME YESTERDAY'S POST, FRIEDOKRA STYLE
Y'all submit your suggestions for a title in the comments.
And because I know y'all will have many awesome and appropros suggestions, you may submit as many as you like, each on its own comment (so you'll have multiple comments and thusly multiple entries).
I'll draw a random winner on Friday.
But wait! There's more.
If you want to double down and get yet! another! entry! in for the drawing, well then just take a short hike through the FriedOkra archives and submit a separate comment telling me your favorite FriedOkra post title to date. You don't have to tell me your favorite post - just an actual title you liked.
I can't wait to hear what y'all come up with. Get to namin'!
What?
The prize?
Mercenaries, all of you!
Let's see. How about a cute little blue and white polka dot True Blue™ Spa Hop To It Perfect Pedicure Kit, which is not only very handy-dandy and useful but also VERY PUNNY - it contains Toe the Line™ Foot Scrub, Shea It Isn't So™ Foot Cream, a top coat polish, a nail brush, those nifty toe separators and some pretty blue pedicure slippers just like the ones they give you at the nail salon!
Name That Post, people.

The Dorkitude
Well, I did it, y'all. And I dorked it up REAL good just to be sure, too.
We went on that picnic, the ladies-whose-names-I-didn't-know, all of our girls (and one cute lil boy) and I. When I got to the rec center and took my seat on the bench with the two Mamas, and a sucked it up and introduced myself, laughing, and then (here's where the dorky part comes in) I yanked out the two little pre-cut pieces of an index card I'd tucked into my purse and wrote my name, phone number and email address along with the address to FriedOkra and I gave each of them one. And then, because I wanted y'all to be proud of my complete dorkitude, I pulled out my trusty little purse-sized spiral-bound notebook and a pen and had each of them was kind enough to write down all their digits for me.
They have lovely names. Oh yes, and some very lovely penmanship, too!
And do you know they didn't even move a little further away from me on the bench after that? They were both thinking they needed to do the same thing, they said. People, after that? I just felt emboldened. RECKLESS, even. So I went on and I told them allll about FriedOkra and that post I wrote describing our little Monday morning meetings and the related Name Quandry.
And yet they still let their girls play with Bean!
Well, I just can't tell you how relieved I felt.
One of them even visited the blog yesterday and sent me a very nice email saying she liked it. Note, she didn't say she UNDERSTOOD it. She said she liked it. You know what? I b'lieve I can live with that.
I still want Mommy cards though, so sometime in July when I go to the salon for my first annual blogiversary makeover, I'm gonna have some made up. That match my blog. To bring things full circle, dorkitudinally-speaking.
Good luck in the drawing, people! I can't wait to hear your FriedOkra-style post titles!

Well, your post immediately before it was "New Week! New Stuff! Because All of A Sudden I've Been Stricken with a Desire to Add Some Value."
So maybe - "Addin' Value"
Mindin' Your Bloggy Manners (or Stricken with a Desire to Leave a Comment?)
My favorite post (maybe because I SO identify) is My Congential Inelegance.
"Your place at the table", from someone who is not a regular commenter, but has becomse a regular reader - Where are my manners?
How can I pick a favorite post? I love them all! My most recent favorite was "What not to say". Oh, the laughs I got from that! I remember the post where you told us Peanut was coming - I was so excited for you! Of course there was also the shopping for maternity clothes incident... So - I gotta say I love em all!
Sorry - I'm not too witty and can't come up with a title for you.
How very very fun!!! I haven't yet shared my blog with people I don't know QUITE well. And even then, I feel like an idiot. Yeah, I have a blog.
A WHAT??
Mmmm'kay. :-)
So weird, the sharing without names phenomenon! I instruct my kiddo to always introduce himself when he meets someone, but I don't take my own advice!
In which we go elsewhere & say a few words.
What YOU have to say OR pay me please?
Ok the 2 above comments were my pathetic attempts at Okra-like titling and this is my favorite past title entry. Cept'n I found 5 that I just looooove & can't decide between them. (yes I am a member of the dork club and combed through your WHOLE DANG BLOG for them)
So without further ado I love:

But I May Have Saved the Pants, Thanks to My Catlike Reflexes, AKA And This is Certainly Not the First Time I've Done Something Like This
I went to check blogs QUICKLY this morning but have spent at least an hour here...um, do you feel loved yet?
:)
Sorr to disappoint but I can barely come up with titles for my own posts so there's no way I could be creative enough to come up to one that would meet Fried Okra standards!
Now, with that said, I will tell you that one of my all time favorite posts of yours is the Tale of H2Woe. I loved that post and it was one that really clinched it for me...I kept coming back to your blog after that. And it was one of the first blog posts that I ever actually talked about with a friend. I felt like a real dork relaying a blog post from a person I didnt' know to a friend in real life. Talk about feeling like a DORK!!
How about "Blog it Forward".
Do you see me? I'm on a beach vacation but I have blogged every. day. this. week.
It's a hobby, but it's also a sickness, I tell you.
ummm let's see......when you put yesterday's post.....with today's post.....I'm going to be a smart hiney and say, "How to get more comments....a two step process!" tee hee...
first guilt.....then offer a prize. :)
I can't even pretend to be as creative and funny and cute as you are. Plus, I'm a Yankee - I'm wearing sandals without a lick of polish on my toe nails. How am I supposed to come up with something that would work on a blog called Fried Okra?! But I'll give it a try anyway.

p.s. and you're so brave. My blog is mostly secret in the "real world." (Which might explain my low comment situation over there these days...
well, that and the lack of TIME to keep on top of it!)

I am so titled challenged on my own blog, I don't really have a good one for ya. How about, Don't Read and Run.
Dorky, I know. But I am.
My favorite post would be My Congenital Inelegance and the other one where you were naked in the maternity store at the mall.
Those were LOL funny.
