Don't panic for me. Yet. I just went back in, and after another coat (there will be a total of 4 coats) things are looking much less orange.

(The area beyond the arches will be a very dark tan.) (In case all the BRITE BUILDER WHITE glowing beyond the RADIOACTIVE RED is causing you to feel like the earth is shifting a little bit on its axis.)

I hope things tone down even more after the third coat.

'Cause I'm not sure how much longer I can hold my breath.

  1. of course I'm not surrounded by it, but I think it is GORGEOUS!!! And when the tan is on the walls it will be spectacular!!! It will be less of a contrast, so it will be easier on the eyes. (Be sure to post photos of that too!)

    Love it!

    Blessings,
    K

  2. I think it is going to be fabulous! What better color to paint the room you spend so much time in than the color that makes you happy?! Can't wait to see the finished product.

  5. Kudos to you for going for some color! Even though it might seem frightening at first I'm sure you will love the red and the tan. Hang in there--red takes a lot of coats before it looks like you imagined. (We have a red kitchen and morning room).

Can't wait to see after pics!

  6. That's so pretty! I thought the gasp in your title meant gasp in admiration. I think it will be even better next to tan. I want to see the finished results.

  10. I LOVE DEEP RICH COLORS ON WALLS!!! I can't believe how different it already looks. SO nice to have painters painting on that color. I did our small bathroom and just about went crazy trying to get it right. Hope you had a good turkey day. We are putting up the Christmas tree and Kevin has found the on/ off switch for the lights. Our immediate neighbors are going to think we have UFOs in our family room!

  11. I think it's going to be gorgeous! Can't wait to see the finished results. We were just discussing paint colors today - I'm painting our walls "Mercer Blue" from the Eddie Bauer Craftsman palette. Craft White for the trim, and one accent wall will be "Pecan." I just love color!

  12. It takes a bold woman like you to paint the walls red, but your boldness will be rewarded!

  14. I think it looks great!! Reds are hard- you saw my wall in my pictures. It took 4 tries for me to get the one that I wanted. What is the name of the tan that you are going to use? I think we decided on Pavilion Beige by Sherwin Williams. I liked some darker ones, but I am trying to compromise with my husband:) I just know it's going to look great!! At least I hope since we picked out almost the same colors!!
